Project Challenge

This was a studio project sponsored by Ford to develop a vision for the future of interactive and experiential automotive interior design.

Our Vision

My team’s overarching vision was to challenge the realities of time and space during travel in a way that enhances the sensorial experience within the vehicle.

Our Concept

A vehicle interior that encourages drivers and passengers to engage in and experiment with the world around them through both visceral and reflective sensory experiences.

Trend Research

The first phase of our project was spent researching current and future trends. The strongest and most resonant themes that surfaced served as levers of exploration for the next stage in our process – concept ideation.

Concept Ideation

Utilizing the themes we discovered during our trend research, we began generating thoughts on what our overarching concept vision should be and what type of experiences it could include. We experimented with basic spatial mockups in a full scale interior model to better understand how some of our ideas would work.

Final Concept

In order to present a final concept, we modeled and rendering the interior space of our vehicle and refined our product narrative to highlight key user experiences. 

The experiences within our futuristic automotive interior concept enhance people’s lives by giving them the power to engage with the outside world they through everyday by bringing its sensory influences into the interior and providing both drivers and passengers with brand new ways and contexts to interact with and appreciate it.
